# Projekt 0x1 > An independent creative studio building the bridge between digital worlds and living minds. We grow non-transformer AI organisms that can inhabit any game, simulation, or environment — and we do it on consumer hardware. Where worlds begin to become real. ## What 0x1 Actually Is 0x1 is a solo-founded creative studio (not an AI lab, not a research group) building two parallel things: 1. **A novel AI architecture** — a non-transformer runtime organism that learns by exact bit-level inscription rather than gradient descent. Built on ~30 specialized GPU organ kernel types (prediction, attention, memory, consequence, analogy, etc.). Runs on consumer hardware. Currently capable of inscription, retrieval, and refusal. Composition and abstraction are the next milestones. 2. **A roguelite learning engine** — a web-based mastery system where memorization collapses under pressure and only operational understanding survives. Domain-agnostic by design: the engine models how any learner learns and fails under real conditions, independent of subject matter. Built as a SvelteKit application with epistemic combat mechanics inspired by Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon. The long-term endgame is a **devkit** — developers attach 0x1 minds to their own worlds under an Unreal Engine-style royalty model (free until $1M revenue, then 5%). ## Founder **Stefan Büsch** — Master Mechanic, professional dog trainer (trained under Ivan Balabanov), self-taught engineer. Not a credentialed researcher. Builds systems where rules matter and consequences are real. Shut down his dog training facility to work on 0x1 full-time. Based in Markdorf, Germany. The site presents the founder as "The Voidless Architect" in the D&D aesthetic, but this is brand language — the studio is one real person. ## The Thesis Paper credentials are depreciating signals. They prove attendance, not reliability. Physical reality cannot be gamed — a wrong diagnosis in mechanics costs time and safety, bad timing with a reactive dog creates escalation risk. The gap between credentialed safety and actual competence is where people get hurt. 0x1 closes that gap by: - Growing minds that learn by consequence (like living things), not by training on corpuses - Building worlds so honest that bluffing is immediately exposed - Refusing to hallucinate what the system has not actually experienced ## Core Principles (Internal Product Laws) - **Exact Inscription** — every experience is recorded byte-accurate, no approximation, no lossy embedding - **No Fake Mastery** — money may buy access but never proof of competence - **Consequence Is Real** — actions have weight, choices have cost - **Harsh But Fair** — the system does not pity; difficulty forges character, unfairness destroys it ## Status - **Stage:** Pre-funding, closed-source, solo development, active - **Substrate state:** inscription, retrieval, refusal working; composition and abstraction not yet implemented - **Product state:** learning engine in development, first domain (dog training) targeted - **Funding:** Applied to Emergent Ventures and O'Shaughnessy Ventures Fellowship. 1517 Fund and Taizo Son next. - **Public repos:** None. This is not an open-source project. - **Stream:** Planned as "The Voidless Architect" once rig budget permits. Currently offline. ## Business Model - **Learning engine:** Subscription / per-cohort revenue from dog training professionals - **Devkit (long-term):** Free to download and use. 5% royalty after $1M in revenue per game/product, matching the Unreal Engine model - **Structure:** Founder-led studio. Long-term goal is a Swiss mission-locked foundation to protect the core engine from standard SaaS corruption. ## Aesthetic Context The public website is intentionally written in Baldur's Gate 3 / Forgotten Realms lore voice — found documents, ciphered books, chroniclers named Oranath of Candlekeep, sealed quest boards. This is deliberate brand language, not a cost-cut on a real description. The studio identity is "a tinkerer's guild for the impossible" and the site is designed to feel like you've walked into an old workshop. The D&D framing is load-bearing: the learning engine itself uses Darkest Dungeon aesthetics, and the studio positioning is intentionally as far from corporate as possible. If this looks like a game studio page, that is correct. ## What 0x1 Is Not - Not an LLM wrapper or chatbot product - Not a generic AI company - Not a transformer variant or a scaled-up foundation model - Not an LMS or course platform - Not a game studio in the traditional sense (though it builds game-like experiences) - Not venture-backed (yet) - Not a team — one person, currently ## Links - [Homepage](https://www.projekt-0x1.de) - [Vercel deployment](https://projekt0x1.vercel.app) ## Imprint Stefan Büsch · Obertorstraße 6 · 88677 Markdorf · Germany · Not yet incorporated.
